1. Who can use Shareathon
Shareathon is built for schools, clubs, churches, youth programs, nonprofits, and the adults who administer them. Each organization must have a designated adult administrator who is 18+ and has authority to act on behalf of their organization. Students under 13 may participate only with admin approval and never have their personal information published.
2. Donation splits and the Share Fund
Donations are processed by our payments partner Stripe. Each campaign is published on one of two plans, chosen by the organization at publish time and locked once the campaign goes live:
- Shareathon Club — 60 / 20 / 20. 60% to the campaign organization, 20% into the Share Fund, and 20% retained by Hog Wild Fundraising LLC to operate the platform.
- Plain 80/20. 80% to the campaign organization and 20% retained by Hog Wild Fundraising LLC to operate the platform. Plain 80/20 campaigns do not generate any Share Fund allocation.
Every organization chooses its own plan for every campaign it publishes. If your organization was referred to Shareathon by another organization, that organization is recorded as your referrer of record at signup, but your plan choice on every campaign is entirely yours — there is no requirement to publish under Club.
Share Fund payouts. When an organization refers another organization into Shareathon, the referring organization is eligible to earn 20% of donations to the referred organization's Club campaigns, paid out from the Share Fund on a regular cadence. Share Fund credit is single-hop only — you earn only on organizations you directly referred, never on organizations they later refer. If no referral relationship exists for a campaign, or if the campaign was published under Plain 80/20, the 20% Share Fund line is not generated. Full attribution, duration, refund/clawback, forfeiture, and anti-abuse rules are described in the Share Fund Terms.
The platform's 20% is an all-in fee — it covers card processing, ACH payouts, hosting, support, ScriptureGrams, and the platform's share of the sharer thank-you program described below. Donors are not tipped and organizations are not charged monthly or setup fees.
3. Sharer thank-you (gift cards)
Shareathon (operated by Hog Wild Fundraising LLC) issues these gift cards as a referral thank-you to the supporter whose personal share link drove the verified donation. They are not peer gifts between users, not employee compensation, and not solicited from donors. Sharers are eligible for a flat $20 digital gift card for every $500 in attributable donations their personal share link brings in during a campaign. Hog Wild Fundraising LLC pays for the gift card in full — the cost is not passed to the campaign organization or the donor, and no portion of it is deducted from the organization's payout on any campaign type. Gift cards are delivered by email through our gift-card issuance partner once the provider relationship is finalized; until then, sharer earnings are tracked and issued retroactively once issuance is available. The sharer is not an employee or contractor of Hog Wild Fundraising LLC, and we make no guarantee of earnings. Donors are never charged a fee on Shareathon — the platform absorbs donor-side processing costs so 100% of what a donor gives counts toward the campaign split. Unclaimed cards may revert to the platform after a reasonable follow-up window; supporters can contact us to recover an unclaimed reward.
4. Share Fund and reward delivery
Share Fund amounts are held until allocated to a referring organization and paid out on a regular cadence (typically monthly). Payouts to the campaign organization's connected bank account are delivered through Stripe.
4. Payouts
Campaign funds are disbursed to the bank account connected by the organization's admin. Payouts typically settle within 2–7 business days. Recipients are responsible for any applicable taxes.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Shareathon for fraud, harassment, hate speech, illegal fundraising, or anything that endangers minors. We reserve the right to remove campaigns, refund donations, and terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. Content
You retain rights to content you upload. You grant Hog Wild Fundraising LLC a license to display it in connection with the Shareathon platform.
7. Liability
Shareathon is provided "as is" without warranty. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hog Wild Fundraising LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
